Christon Herbert is a development professional with significant experience implementing projects targeting civil society and vulnerable groups in the Caribbean. Mr. Herbert occupies the role of Consultant, Multi-Actor Partnerships for Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (CDRFI) as a member of the MCII Policy Team.
Christon is passionate about social development and has held numerous volunteer positions supporting civil society in Barbados and has experience working regionally with the Caribbean Policy Development Centre. In this capacity, he supported the development of the Caribbean Chapter of the Multi-Actor Partnerships and led the development of CDRFI capacity development for vulnerable populations and key stakeholders in the Caribbean through workshops and community resilience sessions for at-risk people. In addition, Christon coordinated the implementation of research papers, policy briefs, and awareness materials on CDRFI to facilitate a more resilient and sustainable Caribbean.
Christon has undertaken qualitative research into the NGO sector and has strengths in resource mobilization mainly through the facilitation of proposal writing for civil society. He has an educational background in Political Science, Law, and E-governance in Developing States.
