Loc Nguyen is a Research Assistant with the Climate Risk Analytics Team at MCII. His work lies at the intersection of geospatial intelligence, climate risk modelling, and data science, contributing to global efforts in climate resilience and risk financing.

Loc is contributing to cutting-edge analytics projects involving interactive risk dashboards using Power BI, probabilistic risk modelling with CLIMADA, socio-economic model and AI-based text development using NLP models. His technical stack includes Python, MATLAB, SQL, PostGIS, GIS, and advanced remote sensing techniques, enabling both exploratory analysis and predictive machine learning modelling.

Prior to joining MCII, Loc worked with Can Tho University and private sectors in Vietnam where he led previous works spanning from climate hazard zoning, industrial risk assessment, to business-oriented tool development. Loc holds a Master of Science in Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security from United Nation University and the University of Bonn, and Bachelor of Engineering in Vietnam. He also completed a postgraduate program in Business Analytics in Switzerland.
