Gender Vision Statement

MCII's Gender Vision Statement emphasizes its commitment to empowering vulnerable populations, particularly women and gender-diverse individuals, by providing access to affordable protection against extreme weather events and fostering resilient societies. Recognizing the importance of integrating gender considerations into disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and climate and disaster risk finance and insurance, the statement highlights the need for a gender-sensitive approach. It underscores that marginalized groups often face additional challenges when gender aspects are not adequately addressed, and aims to empower women, who play a pivotal role in social change, to contribute to building resilience and sustainable development.
