Insurance Industry Group, of which MCII is a founding member, released its second global insurance industry statement. “Building Climate and Disaster-Resilient Communities and Economies” focuses on ways in which the insurance industry and governments can collaborate to build societal resilience. Through the combination of enabling policy, regulatory and legal frameworks, and effective risk identification, reduction, and transfer mechanisms both governments and the insurance industry can work together to reduce the shared risk presented by climate change.
