On December 9, 2020, the InsuResilience Global Partnership Forum launched the report Disaster Risk and Readiness for Insurance Solutions in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The report, co-authored by UNU-EHS and MCII, assesses climate and disaster risks in 38 SIDS, highlighting challenges such as cyclones and storm surges, especially in the Caribbean. It emphasizes the need for tailored risk management solutions and stronger regional partnerships to make insurance more affordable and accessible for these vulnerable nations.
