Rachael Hansen is the Operations & Outreach Coordinator for the MCII division at UNU-EHS. In this role she plays a central role in shaping MCII e.V.'s outreach and visibility. She oversees the management and development of the initiative’s website ensuring it remains a hub for knowledge and engagement, while spearheading branding strategies and social media content that amplify MCII’s impact globally.

Rachael also leads the implementation and coordination of MCII e.V.'s young professional programme: climer (climer.org). She has guided the candidate journey from application through programme completion, while fostering meaningful engagement between participants, external experts, and coaches. With a strong focus on creating impact, Rachael strategically designs and manages programme activities—including high-level lectures, advanced skills sessions, and collaborative group projects—that equip participants with the knowledge and networks needed to drive change in the field of climate and disaster risk finance and insurance (CDRFI).

Rachael completed her undergraduate degree at Utah State University in Journalism and Public Relations and her graduate degree at Edinburgh Napier University in International Event Management.
