2nd Bonn Risk Finance Dialogue: Two Days of Dialogue, Collaboration, and Action
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2nd Bonn Risk Finance Dialogue!
Held alongside the June Climate Meetings (SB64) meetings, this year's Dialogue brought together policymakers, practitioners, researchers, financial institutions, and development partners to explore how climate and disaster risk finance and insurance (CDRFI) can move from global ambition to practical implementation.
Over two days, participants engaged in keynote speeches, high-level panel discussions, three thematic sessions, and interactive workshops centred around the theme of Scaling Up, Scaling Out and Scaling Deep. Together, we explored how to expand financial protection beyond pilot programmes, strengthen policy and financing frameworks, and ensure that financial protection systems are locally owned, inclusive, and effective.
Our cross-cutting workshops provided space to dive deeper into practical implementation experiences, emerging research, and innovative approaches; from integrating social protection and climate risk insurance to pre-arranged finance, recovery pathways, and lessons from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
The Dialogue also spotlighted the next generation of leaders through the MCII CLIMER Programme and concluded with a celebration of 20 years of MCII, recognizing two decades of collaboration and impact in advancing climate risk finance and insurance.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our speakers, moderators, workshop facilitators, and participants for sharing your expertise, experiences, and perspectives. Your engagement made this year's Dialogue a valuable platform for learning, collaboration, and advancing financial protection for climate-vulnerable countries and communities!
